Utilize a cover sheet

The second choice is to physically apply an overcoat sheet by hand to serve as a barrier of defense for your labels. This is effectively the same as laminating your already printed labels, but only on one side. Any sort of label can be made to fit any size sheet, which can then be precisely cut to fit the label's design before being pressed firmly onto the surface.

If necessary, this can offer more protection than an overcoat spray, and the resulting barrier is thicker and more robust.

Compared to after

While adding moisture protection to pre-printed labels is entirely achievable, it is always preferable to thoroughly examine your requirements during the design process. There is nothing you can do to change the primary material's or adhesive layer's attributes once the labels have been printed, including their structural integrity.

Your design choices should be based on whether you intend to use your labels in high-humidity settings. Regardless of the amount of moisture, they are exposed to, using the proper material and adhesive will ensure that your labels cling well in even the most challenging circumstances.
