The ways to improve the production yield of tempered glass

Tempered glass is also called toughened glass, it will break into small fragments to minimize the damage to the humans. To improve the production yield of tempered glass can bring more profits for the glass factory.

First, before tempering, the glass edges must be grinding. The grinding quality plays a decisive role on the the production yield. The good grinding edges can protect the glass against broken in the tempering process, but also make the glass appearance more beautiful.

Second, to adjust the tempering process parameters well. Such as the the heating temperature, heating times, cooling times, and the wind pressure in the cooling process. Normally the heating time for every millimetre is around 40 seconds. But for the glass with big size, the heating time need to be added with 10%. For the glass with holes and slots, the heating times is also need to be added with 10%. To control the heating temperature and heating time is the key to improve the production yield.

3 To heat the glass evenly. The glass have the solid structure, the heating for the upper and bottom surface is slowly. When tempering the large size glass, the middle part is slowly to be heated. If to heat the glass evenly, need to set the temperature in the furnance well, the middle temperature in oven is 10℃ higher than the setting temperature, the edges temperature is 10℃ lower than the setting temperature, then the tempered glass from this conditions will have even particles.

4 For the tempered glass with holes and slots, please note that the diameter of holes should be larger or same as the glass thickness. The distance from holes to glass edges should be larger or equal to the glass doubled thickness. The distance between two holes and the distance between two holes edges should be larger or equal to the glass doubled thickness. If couldn’t meet this requirements, but have to make holes, could try to make slots to replace the holes.
